Our Time with Bioscope-er Baranda
From Feb - Jun 2023

On February 2023, Ayash an Effort embarked on a new journey – with the initiative ‘Bioscope-er Baranda’ (বায়োস্কোপের_বারান্দা)  – awareness through cinema. Cinema is not only a medium of entertainment – it broadens our horizon of thinking and teaches us to see the world from different perspectives. Under this programme, we aim to bring some celebrated world cinema to those who are not privileged enough to experience it otherwise.

In the first few month of our journey, we were able to arrange 13 film screening programmes across Kolkata and other districts. We chose the films which, we thought, will showcase love, friendships and human interactions – and help our young audience to learn empathy and value of relationships. We also looked at enhancing the ability of expression of children and young adults through creative ways.

This aim can only be achieved collaboratively, and therefore we reached out to other organisations working in the field of education and wellbeing of children. Luckily, many of them responded to us and partnered with us in this initiative.

We hope to get support from all our patrons, funders and well-wishers in this programme.
